Beaches

Many of Myanmar's beaches are unspoiled and undiscovered. Together with the amazing landscape of Myanmar (Burma), beaches are great destinations for those who love to soak into the clean blue beach , watching the sunset, staying away from the crowd, meeting with friendly locals in fishing village and enjoying the water activities. The beautiful beaches in Myanmar are mostly along the coastline of the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

Maung Ma Gan Beach

During colonial times Maung Ma Gan was the English’s main beach for relaxing and drinking tea. Since then the locals have adopted the beach as their primary weekend retreat, playing football/chilon on the beach and floating in innertubes on the water. Situated only 12 miles along a well sealed road from Dawei City the beach is very under developed and primarily servicing the local Dawei residents. As a result the beach is very quiet during the weekdays. There are the small family run restaurants which run a 300m stretch of the beach.

Ngwe Saung Beach

The beach is located 48 km west of Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. An unspoilt 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) stretch of silvery sand and modern amenities have made Ngwesaung a popular destination for less budget conscious tourists from Lower Myanmar. The beach is 5 hours drive, with no traffic, away from the principal city of Yangon. It is designed to attract people with larger holiday budgets.  Still Ngwe Saung has much to develop. Some activities such as visit to nearby fishing village, scuba diving, boat trip to nearby islands and elephant training camp can be enjoyed.

Chaung Tha Beach

Chaung Tha  is a village and beach resort located in Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. Chaungtha Beach, as it is more commonly known, is about 5 hours' drive away from Yangon. Chaungtha is renowned for its fresh and reasonably priced seafood. A major attraction is a small pagoda built on a limestone boulder at the southern end of the beach. Nearby fishing villages and tidal mangrove forests are also popular among the tourists.

Ngapali Beach (Sandoway)

This beach is located in the state of Rakhine or Rakhaing in Western Myanmar facing the Bay of Bengal. Thandwe (Sandoway during British time) is about 25 minutes drive to the Resort and 15 minutes drive to the airport. The sleepy village in the surrounding area  is a place for those looking to truly get away from it all. A modest range of water sports and activities including boat trips, bicycle hire and day tours can be enjoyed. Make sure you try some of the local cuisine, as the fresh seafood caught and served here is some of the best in Burma. As well as the dining options offered by your hotel, there is a small selection of good local restaurants nearby as well as the restaurants and bars of neighbouring hotels and resorts.
