Tour Details

Day 1 - Yangon to Mawlamyine

 

Bustling Yangon to Kipling Mawlamyime

 

Begin your journey towards South to Mawlamyine – a city with an air of faded colonial glory.
On arrival, drive through old colonial era buildings and view this thriving previous colonial port city with its lovely colonial architecture. Visit Kyaik Thanlan, a spectacular hillside temple with fabulous views of the countryside. This grand pagoda made famous in Rudyard Kipling's poem 'Mandalay'. Afterwards, continue to Queen Sein Don Monastery and U Zina Pagoda before sunset over the Than Lwin River from View point.

Overnight in Mawlamyine – 2 nights

Day 2 - Day trip to Hpa An

 

Explore Buddha filled caves & iconic Mt. Zwe Kabin

 

 

This morning, visit bustling Zaygyi Market and drive to the Kayin State, its sleepy capital of Hpa An. Explore Buddha-filled caves, nearby Karen village and the iconic Mt Zwe Kabin.

Return to Mawlamyine for a night stop.

Day 3 - Mawlamyine to Dawei
Towards stunning mountain range 

 

Today, we will head straight to Thanbyuzayet which is 34 km away from Mawlamyine and also the starting point of the Death Railway connects Myanmar and Thailand together by the bridge over river Kwai. The bridge was built by a very talented Japanese during WWII.

Afterwards, continue along the narrow road to Ye. On the way to Ye, will a stop at Banana mountain for overlooking view to the whole Ye valley.

From Ye, drive towards a stunning mountain range dividing the Tanintharyi Division and the Mon State to Dawei.

Dawei has the most long-lasting history and picturesque construction in colonial architecture.

Afternoon at leisure to take a stroll along the strand road or visit Myawyit pagoda.

Day 4 - Dawei
Witness local family running business & well known Maung Ma Gan Beach

Today, we will spend time on discovering Dawei’s daily activities and its famous sights. Dawei is the capital of Tanintharyi division in the south of the Myanmar, formerly known as Tavoy. Dawei was one of the first cities, where the English settled after the 1st Anglo-Burmese in 1826. As a result, the town has a long lasting history and picturesque buildings from the colonial times. 

Wonder around Dawei’s river front to dig in the pace of daily life of the local people. Visit  Dawei’s Paya Gyi museum and Shwe Taung Sar pagoda. There is a valuable collection of bronze coins, vase, portraits and large wooden ancient Buddha images in the museum.

In the afternoon, visit a local family that runs cashew nut business and get help from them to peel one nut. Then, continue to soft shell crab farming and later on, we head straight to rubber, beetle plantations and fishing villages to see their big industry there if time permits.

Later in the afternoon, we will visit well-known Maung Ma Gan Beach in time to catch fabulous sunset over the sea.

Day 5 - Dawei to Myeik
A glance at fishing town,Myeik (Beik)

Depart Dawei for Myeik, one of the biggest fishing towns in Myanmar. Most of the goods would go inland and from there up to Tanintharyi and further on to the old capital of Siam Ayutthaya. “Beik” as the locals call there hometown produces everything for the fishing industry what is needed.

These 230 kilometers of road had been closed for foreigners for a long time. The drive takes you through tiny villages. We will make some stops along the way to discover the daily lives of the rural community.

Arrive Myeik.

Take a stroll through the old colonial quarter in the afternoon and visit the Royal Pearl trading shop which has been owned by the same family for over 150 years where we have chance to learn about pearl industry and how difficult it is to cultivate them.

Overnight in Myeik – 1 night

Day 6 - Adventure islands around Mergui for 4 days
Experience adventure in the stunning and uncharted beauty of the remote Mergui Archipelago and relax on the islands.

 

In the morning, transfer to Seik Nge Jetty and depart to Tatagyi island by wooden boat. Begins our journey around islands. 

Along the way, observe the daily life of the fishermen during a short visit of one of the villages along the way. After about 1,5 hours cruise along pristine waters we reach an inhabitant beach with snorkeling possibility. Now it is time to relax and kick back. Go for a snorkel in clear waters or just enjoy in the shade on the beach or float in the ocean or just play on the beach.

Continue to Dome waterwall which is flowing against with the fresh water from the mountain towards sea. Take a shower and capture some photos

From there, we will head towards Dome island where a night is spent.

Day 7 - From Dome island to Smart Island

On the second day, we will continue to Nyaung Hmai Village where Salone (in Myanmar language) or Moken sea gypsies live for a long time. Observe their daily lives.

Continue sailing to the Smart Island that has clear sea water and quite environment.  Enjoy some activities on the island such as walking along the beach, sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling to see coral reef and colorful fishes.

In the evening, the boat crews will serve you with the sea food dinner on the boat or on the island as you request. Then we can make the fire camp on the island and a night stay with tent

Day 8 - from Smart Island to Marcus Island

 

 

 

On the third day, we will continue sailing to Elephant Stone island which offer great place for swimming and sunbath under the sunlight.

After swimming, take a stroll along the village named big wing where the villages are earning by fishing.

After lunch there, continue to Marcus island called Harris island where we will do another night stop.

Day 9 - From Marcus Island towards Myeik

 

 

 

 

The last day of our island trip. Today, we will sail to the stone beach called prince island for swimming and observe the nature of island.

Another stop at Thameehla  (beautiful daughter) island before heading back to Myeik for the last chance to enjoy water activities and take some memorable photos.

Visit reclining Buddha image before we reach the Myeik pier and say "goodbye" to the Mergui around afternoon. Transfer to hotel.

Overnight in Myeik for 1 night. (Breakfast, lunch included)

Day 10 - Depart Myeik to Yangon
